Surasa Dhara 2012, the aesthetic show of Devi Balika Vidyalaya was held on Thursday, the 24th of May, at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapakse Theatre.
The show was held in two sessions; the school show from 9.30 am to 11.30am exclusively allocated for the students of the college, and the public show was staged from 5.00pm onwards.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mr. H. M. Gunasekara graced the occasion as the chief guest. Guests of Honour of the show were Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne, Prof. Mudiyanse Dissanayake, and veteran musician and singer Mr. Amarasiri Peiris.
The show was a collective effort of the Dancing Unit, Oriental Music Unit, Western Music Unit, and the Art Circle. It had many colourful dances, action songs, and music. Guest artist Mr. Amarasiri Peiris, and guest artist Ms. Mekhala Gamage also performed at the show. Nearly 500 Devians participated for different items in this aesthetic extravaganza, and it turned out to be a huge success.
