Devi BalikaVidyalaya is a well reputed government girls’ school in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The students are enrolled from grade six based on the results of Grade five Scholarship Examination and the G.C.E (O/L) Examination. There are nearly 3500 students in the school. The classes are from Grade six to thirteen, in junior secondary and senior secondary sections. Thirty classes are being functioned with five parallel classes for each grade while thirty two classes are being functioned in the Advance Level Section, consists of Arts, Commerce, Science and Technology streams. Both English Medium and Sinhala medium classes are there, for the students to obtain bilingual education. The school is a conducive ground for all three types of education – Formal, Informal and Hidden Curricular, with the insightful guidance of the Principal, Management Committee and the careful scrutiny of the academic staff.

The school itself and its environs are inspiring to achieve academic goals that any student would peruse. Moreover, there are 37 co- curricular associations and 10 sports clubs operated in the school to enhance the total personality of the students, leading to produce well- balanced citizens, equipped with knowledge, skills and attitudes, to the society. Though the schools were closed due to the global pandemic situation, in the recent years, Devi Balika Vidyalaya continued to provide education and also created opportunities toengage in co- curricular activities through the Learning Management system (L.M.S). According to the Performance Index Issued by the Ministry of Education, Devi Balika Vidyalaya has secured the First place for several years including 2020, based on both G.C.E (O/L) and G.C.E. (A/L) Examinations In all  its aspects Devi Balika Vidyalaya is one of the most premier school in the island, with rich learning environment.
